Autobiography
My
name is Vicente Alberto Solis I am a senior at AMES. I am seventeen years old. When
I was thirteen I started my first year of middle school. I went to Glendale
Middle School it wasn’t a good school but it was the only choice that I had.
when I first started going to Glendale I had a lot of good experiences but some
bad ones too. I learned to be responsible but I was also a target for being
bullied. But at the end of the year I managed to live with it at the last day
of my school year I wanted to go with my friends but I decided to go to AMES.
At first I didn’t like the idea because I was going to feel misplaced. I didn’t know anybody but I also thought this can give me at least a chance to go to college. And I can also start fresh. For the few first days I was just walking the halls until I walked into the Native American club. That was the first place where I fitted in and that helped me to get more involved in school. The years I been in AMES I learned a lot that I can apply in my life outside of school. At first when I had my computer I didn’t know how to download programs. And now I can create them. also in my English class I read a lot and I got into the habit that I can’t stop reading. I believe that if your read more your vocabulary will grow and it will help you during your life and make your life easier. I mostly don’t have a lot of hobbies but I do have the three things I do daily. What I do is reading, drawing, and music. When I read I think of my self-doing the things that the main character doing. And when I feel like drawing I can draw whatever comes to my mind. And with my music I love to listen to my music it makes me feel free and relaxed when I work. |

quote
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
― Martin Luther King Jr
i can relate to this quote because i have a lot of experience of being bullied. and i was very depressed for a long time because of it. but when i have made my first friend all of that changed. the people that bullied me stopped to bully me. and now i am friends with some of them. so when i came to AMES i wanted to have a fresh start. but i was to nervous to talk to somebody but now that i am a senior i can now talk to more people better and i can help people who need a friend and make them feel welcomed to our school.
AMES memory
In my first year at AMES I didn’t know anybody. A few days passed and I was alone. Until doughnut day. On Doughnut day all of the Ames students were supposed to sign up for a club. And I didn’t know which one to pick. So when I was walking I saw the Native American club. I looked at the list of names and it was short so I sign up for it. And when it was co-curricular that day I decided to go there and that’s where I met Lane. And he helped me to get to know people. After that I started to go there more often. And I got to know more people in the Native American Club. I learned to communicate better with my peers. After a few weeks I can now talk to other people. And that is how I learned to be more social in school.
